A maternity shoot is a beautiful way to capture the excitement and anticipation of pregnancy, and our add-on packages for newborn and baby photography allow parents to cherish those precious moments for years to come.

Maternity:
Your photo shoot can occur in the studio or at a outdoor location of your choice. Your maternity session can include multiple outfit changes and I will pose you to showcase your belly!
Newborn:
Your newborn session can also include multiple outfit changes, and I will make sure to capture your newborn’s tiny features and sleepy poses.
The studio has multiple props and sets that we can use during your shoot. We also operate on “baby time”, which means if we need to take a break to feed or change the baby or let the baby fall asleep, we will do that. My goal is to provide you with a high quality, stress free photoshoot for both your maternity and newborn photo session.

FAQ
How long does a maternity or newborn session last?
Typically 60-90 minutes, but flexible because we are operating on mom and baby time. I do not book back to back appointments to ensure that there will not be a time pressure on mom and baby.
What is included in each session?
- 60-minute studio (maternity, newborn, 1st birthday, milestones) or on-location portrait session (maternity, first birthday, milestones)
- 2-week online proof gallery from which you will chose your favorite images
- 10 retouched, high-resolution digital images
- Photobooks, prints, and custom items available for purchase
Do you offer newborn and first-year add on packages?
Yes, we do offer a discounted newborn and first year / milestone package for those who want to document their baby’s first year.
At what point in pregnancy do you recommend that a shoot take place?
We recommend between 28-35 weeks. At this point in your pregnancy, you will be both showing and growing, and you will still have lots of energy. Ultimately, the best time for a pregnancy photoshoot is when the mother-to-be feels happy and comfortable.
How should I prepare for my maternity photoshoot?
- Book your session early so that you are able to secure your ideal dates (see above).
- During the initial consultation, let me know what type of image you are looking for (or not looking for!). I often create a shared Pinterest board to use as inspiration for your shoot.
- Choose your outfits! Make sure they are outfits that accentuate your growing belly.
- Consider having your hair and makeup done professionally prior to your session. My onsite hair and makeup artist can be scheduled prior to your session.
- Pamper yourself! Drink plenty of water and get adequate rest the night before.
When should I schedule my newborn portrait session?
Ideally this will happen within the first 4 weeks following childbirth. Your baby is likely to be more sleepy and calm during this time, will will allow us to pose him or her in all the cute poses and get detailed shots of hands, toes, eyelashes, etc.
What outfits should I bring for my newborn?
This is of course based on the preference of the parents, but something to keep in mind is that babies do not love to have their clothes changed constantly! So try to choose outfits that are easy to put on and not overly complex so that baby isn’t irritated by constant wardrobe changes. It is also a good idea to try on the clothing at home so that there are no surprises in the studio with respect to comfort or fit.
